I’ ve got the pleasure of working as Creature Artist (modeling/texturing/fur) on this Tooheys Extra Dry TV ad.
I’ ve created the CG photo real deers (stag/doe).

Quite a typical mountain lion snarling. I’ ve tried a facial expression not too exaggerated to be able to keep the ‘cute’ look of the cat.
The base mesh is made with Maya and it’s around 10k.
Shave and a Haircut for fur. The hair count for the actual image is about 500k. The full mesh has around 900k hair prims.
Rendered with MentalRay the image has been composited in Photoshop, the background is matte painting.
